Basketball Recap: Hackleburg Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Hackleburg took on Brilliant on Thursday. The Hackleburg Panthers took a 57-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brilliant Tigers. The Panthers' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Brooklyn Omary had an outrageously good game for Brilliant as she went 5 of 12 en route to 22 points. The dominant performance gave Omary a new career-high in points. Macy Moore was another key player, putting up ten points.

Hackleburg's defeat dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Brilliant, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-8.

Hackleburg wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 73-29 win against Lindsay Lane Christian Academy on the 25th. Brilliant has also already played their next matchup, a 58-47 loss against Marion County on the 24th.
