Volleyball Game Preview: Addison Trail Blazers vs. Saint Viator Lions

Addison Trail hasn't had much luck against Saint Viator recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Blazers will take on the Lions at 8:30 a.m.

On Friday, Addison Trail came up short against Glenbard West and fell 2-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-8.

Meanwhile, Saint Viator hadn't done well against Joliet Catholic recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Lions came out on top against the Hilltoppers by a score of 2-0.

While Saint Viator might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Joliet Catholic scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-18.

Addison Trail better keep an eye on Olive Meyers. She was instrumental in Saint Viator's win, getting ten digs and two aces. Those ten digs gave Meyers a new career-high. Rose Berlen also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Addison Trail's loss dropped their record down to 9-16. As for Saint Viator, their record is now 15-7.

Addison Trail couldn't quite get it done against Saint Viator in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Blazers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
