Softball Recap: Doddridge County's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

Doddridge County dropped their record down to 20-4 on Thursday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Gilmer County Titans by a score of 8-6. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Titans earlier this season, when they won 8-7.

Brooke Dehaven was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Maysun Gagnon was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As for Gilmer County, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 17-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.1 runs over those games.

On Gilmer County's side, Paige Montgomery was incredible, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was Montgomery's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Erin Stoddard, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Looking ahead, Doddridge County will face off against Bridgeport at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Gilmer County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Midland Trail at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
