Preview: Westwood Longhorns vs. Wooddale Cardinals
The Westwood Longhorns will head out on the road to face off against the Wooddale Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Westwood has four straight wins, Wooddale has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Even though Freedom Prep Academy scored an imposing 59 points on Thursday, Westwood still came out on top. Westwood took their match against Freedom Prep Academy 67-59.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 57-26, which was the final score in Wooddale's tilt against Trezevant on Friday. Wooddale was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-12.
Westwood pushed their record up to 4-1 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.3 points per game. As for Wooddale, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
Westwood strolled past Wooddale in their previous matchup back in November of 2016 by a score of 54-39. Will Westwood repeat their success, or does Wooddale have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
