Preview: Vandalia Christian Vikings vs. Asheboro Hybrid Academy Warriors
Vandalia Christian has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Asheboro Hybrid Academy Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Vandalia Christian ended up a good deal behind Triad Baptist Christian Academy and lost 61-42.
Meanwhile, Asheboro Hybrid Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against South Guilford HomeSchool, falling 66-26. While losing is never fun, Asheboro Hybrid Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 432nd, while South Guilford HomeSchool is ranked 153rd).
Vandalia Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Asheboro Hybrid Academy, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
Vandalia Christian took their win against Asheboro Hybrid Academy when the teams last played back in November of 2023 by a conclusive 41-18. The rematch might be a little tougher for Vandalia Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
