Football Recap: Buford Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Cole Carnes and Noah Crump + How To Watch

Buford lost against Great Falls back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Yellow Jackets fell just short of the Red Devils by a score of 36-34. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Yellow Jackets have suffered since September 20, 2024.

Buford's loss came despite strong showings from Noah Crump and Cole Carnes. Crump threw for 157 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Carnes picked up 64 receiving yards and one TD.

A big part of Great Falls' win came down to the chemistry between Zaquan Talford and his top target Kendrick Patterson. Talford rushed for 81 yards and one score on only nine carries while Patterson rushed for 131 yards and a pair of TDs on only nine carries.

Buford now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Great Falls, their record now sits at 2-3.

Buford wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 42-0 loss against North Central on the 26th. As for Great Falls, after each having a week off, they and Lee Central will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:30 p.m. on October 3. The contest will give the Red Devils their first taste of in-conference action this season.
