Basketball Recap: Reagan Skates Past Parkland with Ease

Reagan was handed a heart-breaking two-point loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Parkland on Wednesday. The Reagan Raiders took their game with ease, bagging a 66-30 victory over the Parkland Mustangs. The Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 23 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Reagan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lincoln Jackson, who posted ten points. KJ Ford was another key player, putting up eight points.

Reagan was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Defeat or not, Parkland got some senior leadership from Josiah Downing and Brock Jackson. Downing had seven points and eight rebounds, while Jackson put up ten points and five rebounds.

Reagan has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.2 points per game. As for Parkland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Reagan and Parkland could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. Reagan (ranked 125th) will meet Mount Tabor (ranked 31st) at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Parkland (ranked 388th) will meet Davie (ranked 58th) at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
