Volleyball Recap: Forge Christian Takes a Loss

After flying high against Arrupe Jesuit on Wednesday, Forge Christian came back down to earth. The Fury came up short against the Stargate School Eagles on Friday, falling 3-0. The Fury have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

While Forge Christian ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-18, 25-19.

Their offense was headlined by Dennis Blinov and Parker Barthel, who picked up six kills apiece. Blinov also shared the team's lead in assists with Seth Davies: they picked up ten each. Davies was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Forge Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Stargate School, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Forge Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Arvada West on the 26th. As for Stargate School, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Windsor Charter Academy on the 28th.
