The Wickenburg Wranglers made easy work of the St. John Paul II Catholic Lions on Wednesday and carried off a 16-6 victory. Considering the Wranglers have won six games by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Cruz Reyes was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Wickenburg's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-7 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Larry Wilcox, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Wickenburg was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. John Paul II Catholic only posted a batting average of .300.

The win made it two in a row for Wickenburg and bumps their season record up to 7-7. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for St. John Paul II Catholic, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-3.

Coming up, Wickenburg will welcome Kingman Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. As for St. John Paul II Catholic, they will venture away from home to challenge Chandler Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Titans have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season.
