Softball Recap: Bellevue Broncos vs. Climax-Scotts Panthers
Bellevue had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 0-6 to make it seven. They lost 17-1 to the Climax-Scotts Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 28-8 back in April.
As for Climax-Scotts, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-4. Considering they have won six games by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
For Climax-Scotts' part, Addy Reeves made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Reeves has posted since back in April. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with three RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Climax-Scotts got a massive performance out of Holly Talbert, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI. Talbert has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Addi Dzwik, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Coming up, Bellevue will welcome Parchment at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Climax-Scotts, they will head out to take on Gobles at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
