Recap: Jonesboro Cardinals vs. Forest Park Panthers
Even though the Jonesboro Cardinals have not done well against the Forest Park Panthers recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Jonesboro simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Panthers 60-14 at home. Given Jonesboro's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 217th, while the Panthers are ranked 484th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jonesboro found their leader in underclassman Naislyvia Pringle, who scored 16 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Wright, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
The win makes it two in a row for Jonesboro and bumps their season record up to 11-9. As for Forest Park, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16.
Jonesboro will head out on the road to challenge the Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Forest Park, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st. Rockdale County has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
