Softball Game Preview: Hamilton County Foxes vs. Fairfield Mules

The Hamilton County Foxes will square off against the Fairfield Mules at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Hamilton County will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Hamilton County played against Carmi-White County on Thursday and won via forfeit.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Fairfield turned things around against Odin on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 7-1 victory. The Mules not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 28th (when they won 15-0).

Kenry Hutchcraft spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Serenity Dagg, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted over her last eight matches. Remi McCune was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Hamilton County now has a winning record of 16-15. As for Fairfield, their win bumped their record up to 13-16.

Hamilton County skirted past Fairfield 13-11 in their previous meeting back in April. Do the Foxes have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mules turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
