Softball Recap: Western vs. City College Black Knights
After flying high against Forest Park last Tuesday, Western came back down to earth. Western wound up with the same score they had in their last game (22-9), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They have not had much luck with City College recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
For City College's part, Serena Bostic and Brooklynn Murrell did most of the damage at the plate: Bostic scored three runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4, while Murrell went 2-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Bostic has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Maliyah Coleman was another key contributor, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Western's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for City College, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
