Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Carl Junction). Their defense stepped up to hand the Hillcrest Hornets a 6-0 shutout on Tuesday. Nolan Couk was a massive factor in the win as he booted in five goals all by himself.

Carl Junction's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Hillcrest, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Carl Junction will be playing in front of their home fans against Springfield Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Hillcrest, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Camdenton at 6:00 p.m. on the 23rd.
