Preview: Jackson vs. Carthage
Carthage will take on Jackson in each of the teams' fifth playoff game on Saturday. Averaging 41.25 points per matchup, the Carthage squad has been an offensive juggernaut in the playoffs, so hopefully Jackson's defense is prepared for a test.
Last week, Carthage faced Fort Zumwalt North in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Tigers narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Fort Zumwalt North 20-17.
Meanwhile, Jackson earned some more postseason success in their contest last week. They took their game against Staley 20-7. Cael Welker was the offensive standout of the matchup for Jackson, as he rushed for 102 yards and two TDs on 32 carries. Welker has now produced at least one touchdown in the past 13 games.
