Recap: Golden Demons vs. Alameda Pirates
The Golden Demons entered their tilt with the Alameda Pirates with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Golden blew past Alameda 81-10 at home. That looming 81-10 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Golden yet this season.
Golden got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jack Flambures out in front who scored 11 points along with eight steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Flambures has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Keiton Abeyta, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and seven steals.
Golden pushed their record up to 11-2 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.9 points per game. As for Alameda, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Golden will face off against Cherokee Trail at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Cherokee Trail is ranked 83rd, while Golden is ranked 61st). Alameda on the road again on Monday and play against STEM School Highlands Ranch at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd. Hopefully STEM School Highlands Ranch focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Friday.
