Volleyball Game Preview: Lufkin Panthers vs. Whitehouse Wildcats

The Lufkin Panthers will take on the Whitehouse Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Lufkin is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Texas just ended the team's five-match winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 3-2. While the Panthers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tigers 25-17 in the first set.

Lufkin took Texas into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-19, 25-23, 22-25, 15-10.

Meanwhile, Whitehouse made easy work of Jacksonville on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-11, 25-19.

Lufkin's defeat dropped their record down to 28-8. As for Whitehouse, their win bumped their record up to 26-11.
