Volleyball Recap: Lackawanna Trail Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Lackawanna Trail duked it out with Western Wayne on Thursday. The Lions came up short against the Wildcats, falling 3-0. The Lions were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-5, 25-14, 25-9.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Western Wayne to victory, but perhaps none more so than Phoebe Schmitt, who had seven aces. Those seven aces gave Schmitt a new career-high. Raegan Fox also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Lackawanna Trail and nudges their season record down to 1-15. As for Western Wayne, their win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Lackawanna Trail will head out to square off against Forest City at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Western Wayne, they will venture away from home to face off against Holy Redeemer at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
