Softball Game Preview: Dayton Greendevils vs. Calvary Christian Cougars

The Dayton Greendevils are taking a road trip to face off against the Calvary Christian Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dayton is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.

Villa Madonna hit Dayton with a five-run first inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Greendevils came up short against the Vikings, falling 11-1. The contest marked the Greendevils' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Dayton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was McKenzie Sullivan, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Calvary Christian challenged Bellevue on Wednesday. The Cougars lost 11-3 to the Tigers. The Cougars' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row.

Calvary Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Dayton, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.

Everything went Dayton's way against Calvary Christian in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Dayton made off with a 14-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Greendevils since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
