Baseball Game Preview: Phillips Bears vs. Brilliant Tigers

The Phillips Bears will square off against the Brilliant Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither Phillips nor Brilliant posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Phillips fell victim to Hamilton and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Aggies, falling 12-0. The Bears haven't had much luck with the Aggies recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, Brilliant lost 16-2 to Marion County on Friday.

Phillips' loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Brilliant, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Phillips suffered a grim 20-4 defeat to Brilliant when the teams last played back in March of 2025. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
