Baseball Recap: Arcadia Takes a Loss

Arcadia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 10-4 to the Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Redskins of the 2-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Isaac Stoner made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Arcadia's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 5-12 when he doesn't). Aiden Lynch was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.

Arcadia's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Hopewell-Loudon, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

Arcadia will take on Gibsonburg at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Golden Bears will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Redskins surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hopewell-Loudon, they will square off against Danbury at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lakers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.9 runs per game on average), something the Chieftains will no doubt try to take advantage of.
