Baseball Preview: St. Helena Saints vs. Justin-Siena Braves
St. Helena hasn't had much luck against Justin-Siena recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The St. Helena Saints will head out to square off against the Justin-Siena Braves at 3:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
St. Helena proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by nine) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Healdsburg 3-1.
St. Helena saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caiden Taylor, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Justin-Siena posted their closest victory since March 28, 2024 on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Concord 10-8.
Peter Trovitch looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jake Fletcher, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Braeden Butler was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases.
St. Helena's record is now 2-0. As for Justin-Siena, their record now sits at an identical 2-0.
