The First Academy is 5-0 against Circle Christian since December of 2014 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The First Academy Royals will challenge the Circle Christian Centurions at 7:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

The First Academy will head out to face Circle Christian after giving up their first home loss of the season on Friday. The First Academy fell 58-50 to Viera.

Meanwhile, Circle Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 72-68 heartbreaker at the hands of Family Christian Academy. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (64), the Centurions still had to take the loss.

The First Academy will have to contain Lucas Valdes as he made an impact in Circle Christian's last game. He went 9 for 17 on his way to 19 points and three steals. Valdes' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Dullmeyer, who posted 15 points.

Even though they lost, Circle Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Circle Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for The First Academy, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-7.

The First Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Circle Christian in their previous matchup back in January of 2017, sneaking past 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for The First Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
