Basketball Game Preview: Thomas More Prep-Marian Monarchs vs. Sacred Heart Knights

Thomas More Prep-Marian and Sacred Heart are an even 4-4 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Thomas More Prep-Marian Monarchs will face off against the Sacred Heart Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Thomas More Prep-Marian strolled past Trego with points to spare, taking the game 67-51. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Monarchs.

Meanwhile, Sacred Heart put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 54-43 win over Southeast of Saline. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while the Trojans are ranked 135th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sacred Heart's victory was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points per game. As for Thomas More Prep-Marian, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Thomas More Prep-Marian might still be hurting after the 66-43 loss they got from Sacred Heart when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Thomas More Prep-Marian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
