Basketball Game Preview: Doniphan-Trumbull Cardinals vs. Centennial Broncos

The Doniphan-Trumbull Cardinals will challenge the Centennial Broncos at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Doniphan-Trumbull will be strutting in after a win while Centennial will be coming in after a defeat.

Doniphan-Trumbull is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They came out on top against Wood River by a score of 58-46 on Friday. The score was all tied up 26-26 at the break, but the Cardinals were the better team in the second half.

Doniphan-Trumbull can attribute much of their success to Charlee Richter, who posted 25 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Richter has scored at least a third of Doniphan-Trumbull's points. Another player making a difference was Camryn Engel, who had 13 points.

Meanwhile, Centennial suffered their closest loss since December 12, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of Cross County by a score of 45-43. The defeat continues a trend for the Broncos in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now lost four in a row.

Centennial's loss dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Doniphan-Trumbull, their victory bumped their record up to 3-18.

Doniphan-Trumbull came up short against Centennial when the teams last played on Monday, falling 47-37. Can Doniphan-Trumbull avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
