Softball Game Preview: Wilkes-Barre Wolfpack vs. Dallas Mountaineers

For the second straight game, Wilkes-Barre will face off against Dallas. The Wolfpack will look to defend their home field on Saturday against the Mountaineers at 11:00 a.m.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Wilkes-Barre's offense. They lost 6-0 to Dallas on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Wolfpack's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

For Dallas' part, the result came thanks to NINA BARROUK's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 18 Ks. Those 18 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for BARROUK.

On the hitting side, EMMA FOSTOCK was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season. SYDNEY HAYDU was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Dallas, bringing their record up to 6-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Wilkes-Barre, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.
