Basketball Recap: Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill Gets the Win

Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They pulled ahead with a 44-43 photo finish over the Thales Academy Rolesville Knights on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 56-50 back in November of 2024.

Leading Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill to victory were Josh Worsham and Solano Barbeito. Worsham posted 12 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals, while Barbeito put up 13 points and eight boards. That's the most boards Barbeito has posted since back in January of 2024. Joey Turek was another key player, putting up four points along with 13 rebounds and four steals.

Thales Academy Rolesville's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Colby Currie, who earned nine points and three steals. Currie is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Owen Cleek, who scored 12 points and five steals.

Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-13. As for Thales Academy Rolesville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-12.

Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-57 loss against St. Thomas More Academy on the 21st. As for Thales Academy Rolesville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 60-40 victory against Neuse Christian Academy on the 21st.
