Volleyball Recap: Ludlowe Beats St. Joseph for Their Sixth Straight Win

Ludlowe had already won five in a row and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the St. Joseph Cadets. That's more bragging rights for the Falcons, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Rebecca Karlsen paced Ludlowe's offense, picking up 24 kills. Karlsen got some help from Sidney Ogilvie and her 40 assists. Ogilvie also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Sofia Cilano, each putting up three.

Several Cadets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mary DeCaro, who had 22 digs and three assists. Another player making a difference was Lilly Kugit, who had 27 assists and six digs.

Ludlowe's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for St. Joseph, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Ludlowe will take on rival Ridgefield at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, St. Joseph is set to challenge their familiar foe Trumbull at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
