American Canyon is a perfect 3-0 against Windsor since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:00 p.m. American Canyon is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
Last Thursday, American Canyon made easy work of Cardinal Newman and carried off a 3-0 win.
While American Canyon won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-23, 25-17.
American Canyon got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Elijah Arizabal out in front who had four digs, four aces, and one block. That's the most aces Arizabal has posted since back in February of 2024.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Windsor faced off against Analy last Thursday. Windsor lost 3-0 to Analy. The Jaguars have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.
While Windsor was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Analy's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-17, 25-21.
Having lost for the first time this season, Windsor fell to 4-1. As for American Canyon, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
American Canyon was able to grind out a solid victory over Windsor in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for American Canyon since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
