Softball Recap: Kellam Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

While Kellam's victory against Kempsville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Knights skirted past the Chiefs 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Chiefs: they've now won five in a row.

Kellam's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Kempsville, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kellam will welcome Ocean Lakes at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Knights 2.2, the Dolphins 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Kempsville, they will host Deep Creek at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hornets will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Chiefs surely won't give up without a fight.
