Baseball Recap: Meridian Comes Up Short

Birch Run hit Meridian with a seven-run third inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Mustangs came up short against the Panthers, falling 11-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-4 on Friday.

Meridian has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-11-1 record this season. As for Birch Run, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Meridian will host St. Louis at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Birch Run, they will square off against Montrose at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
