After a string of five wins, Fossil Ridge's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brewer Bears. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bears earlier this season, when they won 10-5.

Kennedy Diermier was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Callie Mauppin also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Fossil Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 13-5-1. As for Brewer, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season.

Fossil Ridge has already played their next contest, a 14-0 loss against Aledo on the 8th. As for Brewer, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 16-1 victory against Saginaw on the 8th.
