Volleyball Recap: Barberton Starts off Right with Win over Garfield

Barberton had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against the Garfield Rams on Tuesday as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Magics in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won three in a row.

Barberton walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). The final score came out to 25-16, 25-6, 25-21.

Barberton found their leader in sophomore Belle Davis, who had seven digs and two aces.

Barberton was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Garfield is on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Barberton will head out to face off against Cuyahoga Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Garfield, they will venture away from home to square off against Warrensville Heights at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
