Football Recap: Madison Comes Up Short

Madison had lost four straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-8 to make it five. They were dealt a 37-7 defeat at the hands of the Milan Indians. The Cubs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-7.

As for Milan, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-4. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 23 points or more this season.

Leading Milan to victory were Grant Langferman and Beckett Langferman. Grant rushed for 113 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries, while Beckett rushed for 220 yards and one score while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Grant really tore up the turf during one magnificent 92-yard run.

Coming up, Madison will square off against Owen Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cubs will be up against the Patriots' rather soft defense (which has allowed 48.44 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. Milan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
