Aquinas Academy had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They had to suffer through a 57-29 loss at the hands of the Greenwood Mennonite Flames. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.
Carter Long was a one-man wrecking crew For Greenwood Mennonite. as he went 8-for-17 to rack up 20 points along with seven assists and five steals. Long's big performance that afternoon made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Blake Mast, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 14 points and five boards.
Greenwood Mennonite's win bumped their record up to 2-0.
Aquinas Academy and Greenwood Mennonite will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Crusaders see the court they'll take on Fairwinds Christian at 5:30 p.m. on December 2. As for Greenwood Mennonite, their break will end when they face Salisbury at 6:00 p.m. on December 1.
