Baseball Recap: Skyview Comes Up Short

Skyview was the 17-2 winner over Rigby when they last played one another back in March of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Skyview fell just short of Rigby by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The contest marked the Hawks' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Skyview got a good showing from Parker Kons, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Skyview saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Henry Downey, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Those two hits gave Downey a new career-high.

This is the second loss in a row for Skyview and nudges their season record down to 2-2-1. As for Rigby, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-4.

Coincidentally, Skyview and Rigby will both be playing Post Falls the next time they take the field. Skyview will host Post Falls at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, while Rigby will head out to face them at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
