Softball Recap: Hayesville Takes a Loss

Hayesville scored first but ultimately less than Copper Basin in their matchup on Monday. They lost 12-2 to the Cougars. The Yellowjackets haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Hayesville saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Micalynn McClure, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Kyla Bauer also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Hayesville's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Copper Basin, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Hayesville has already played their next contest (against Cherokee), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Copper Basin, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-5 defeat against Sale Creek on the 8th.
