Soccer Game Preview: Jefferson vs. Washington

The Jefferson Cougars will take on the Washington Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jefferson's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Jefferson is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Fairmont Senior on Saturday. The Cougars fell just short of the Polar Bears by a score of 1-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, Jefferson haven't been shut out since back in August.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Washington's offense. They fell 2-0 to Woodrow Wilson on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Washington can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 27th, while Woodrow Wilson are ranked first).

Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 3-8-1. As for Washington, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4-1.
