Softball Recap: Sherrard Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Sherrard came tearing into Saturday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Hall Red Devils with a sharp 14-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Danni Neppl was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Neppl was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Makenzy Moran was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last three times she's played. Marisa Neels also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Sherrard always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hall only posted an OBP of .375.

Sherrard's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Hall, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.

Sherrard will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Red Devils: the pair will be back at it again later today.
