Basketball Recap: Coral Reef Comes Up Short

Coral Reef was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 31-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Coral Park Rams. The Barracudas were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rams earlier this season, when they won 37-29.

Despite the defeat, Coral Reef saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tayler Jackson posted six points and seven steals. Jackson has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played.

Coral Park got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Greisy Perdomo out in front who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 steals. Another player making a difference was Elisabel Diconzo, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards.

Coral Reef's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Coral Park, their record is now 4-7.

Coral Reef has already played their next game, a 50-9 defeat against Ferguson on the 15th. As for Coral Park, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 49-39 win against South Miami on the 15th.
