League recap: Poteau extends winning streak with victory over Cleveland

4A District 4 recap November 19, 2013

Poteau added to the longest winning streak in 4A District 4 this week by beating Cleveland, 48-7. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.

Poteau took down the Tigers 48-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Roger Barcheers ran for 232 yards in the win.

Greg Werner's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jace Pitchford threw for 60 and 1 touchdown and Jarrett Lowrimore had 42 yards receiving. On the ground Barcheers chipped in 232 yards. Kendrick Hardaway helped Poteau's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 18 yards.

Barcheers was a force in the backfield as the Pirates topped Cleveland.

Barcheers was a passing and rushing force as Poteau bested Dale Anderson's team. Barcheers' favorite target this week was Lowrimore, who caught 4 passes for 42 yards.

Barcheers was the most successful running back in the league this week. Teammate Pitchford added to the ground attack by rushing for 94 yards.

On the heels of Pitchford and Barcheers, the Pirates have had great success on offense. Pitchford leads the league in passing with 1,310 yards, while Barcheers has rushed for 1,297 yards this season. Rogers College's Travis Hytche leads the league in receiving yards with 600 on 38 catches.

Dominic Blue has rushed for 901 yards on 181 carries so far this year.

Poteau led the league in scoring this week by notching 48 points on the Tigers. Barcheers during the win.
