Basketball Game Preview: Southwestern Rebels vs. Switzerland County Pacers

Southwestern and Switzerland County are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Southwestern Rebels will challenge the Switzerland County Pacers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southwestern has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 178 points over their last three contests.

Southwestern will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Jac-Cen-Del, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Southwestern enjoyed a cozy 59-44 victory over Jac-Cen-Del on Thursday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Southwestern to victory, but perhaps none more so than Savannah Nussbaum, who posted seven points along with 11 boards and four steals. Nussbaum is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Simpson, who scored eight points in addition to nine rebounds and seven assists.

Southwestern smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in nine consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Switzerland County played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 56-29 loss at the hands of Oldenburg Academy. The Pacers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-12.

Southwestern's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-8. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points per game. As for Switzerland County, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-15.

Everything came up roses for Southwestern against Switzerland County when the teams last played back in January, as the team secured a 56-28 victory. Does Southwestern have another victory up their sleeve, or will Switzerland County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
