Western entered their tilt with Hastings on Tuesday with 11 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 12. They took down the Hastings Saxons 55-36. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while the Saxons are ranked 460th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Western's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.2 points over those games. As for Hastings, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Western will take on Marshall at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hastings, they will square off against Lee at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
