Plattsburgh and Peru are an even 5-5 against one another since June of 2021, but likely not for long. The Hornets will head out to face off against the Nighthawks at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Plattsburgh sitting on four straight wins and Peru on nine.
On Friday, Plattsburgh beat Moriah 5-1.
Dan Hartmann spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Nate Baker, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Plattsburgh's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't).
Meanwhile, Peru got the win against Ticonderoga on Friday by a conclusive 14-7. The Nighthawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.
Donnie Mitchell was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Peru's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-0. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Plattsburgh, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Plattsburgh hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .325. However, it's not like Peru struggles in that department as they've averaged .386. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
