Allegheny-Clarion Valley moved up to 414 from 447 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Keystone Shortway - Small. The Falcons were able to make the jump by beating Redbank Valley 47-13.
Clarion Area extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Union, 28-7. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Bobcats.
Allegheny-Clarion Valley's dynamic duo of Kevin Kaufman and Greg Elliott proved tough for the Bulldogs to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Kaufman threw for 177 yards and two touchdowns and Elliott had 47 yards receiving. Ryan Bartley helped Allegheny-Clarion Valley's passing attack out by catching one ball for 42 yards.
Tanner Klein made the biggest impact on defense this week as Clarion Area defeated the Knights/Damsels. The 6-foot-0 senior grabbed one sack.
TJ Armstrong was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 25 carries, he ran for 206 yards as Larry Wiser's team bested Redbank Valley. Teammate Ian Corbett added to the ground attack by rushing for 20 yards.
6-foot-0 quarterback Kaufman of the Falcons is the league leader in passing yards this season with 793. He has also thrown seven touchdowns. On the ground, the Bobcats' Armstrong has rushed for 410 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Cody Hearst. The Clarion Area star has 10 catches for 264 yards.
