Baseball Recap: Chincoteague Gets the Win

Chincoteague and Northampton pushed the score to 16-12 the last time they played Northampton, but on Tuesday defenses reigned supreme. The Ponies never let the Yellowjackets get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Ponies in their matchups with the Yellowjackets: they've now won eight in a row.

The result came thanks to Kent Reed's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Jermaine Logan Jr was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Micah Bennicoff was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Chincoteague's victory bumped their record up to 8-9-1. As for Northampton, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.
