Soccer Game Preview: Bettendorf vs. Wheaton-Warrenville South

The Bettendorf Bulldogs will face off against the Wheaton-Warrenville South Tigers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Bettendorf's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Central DeWitt as they made off with a 7-0 win. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Bettendorf's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while Central DeWitt are ranked 105th).

Meanwhile, Wheaton-Warrenville South waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 3-0 victory. Give Wheaton-Warrenville South's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Bettendorf is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those five matchups. As for Wheaton-Warrenville South, their victory bumped their record up to 12-1-2.

Bettendorf was able to grind out a solid win over Wheaton-Warrenville South when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 4-2. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
