Xavier Cortez gave up the fewest walks he has since back in May of 2024 on Thursday. He was dynamite, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
