Volleyball Game Preview: Goessel Bluebirds vs. Centralia Panthers

The Goessel Bluebirds are taking a road trip to square off against the Centralia Panthers at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Goessel sitting on six straight wins and Centralia on five.

Goessel is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They came out on top against Flinthills by a score of 2-0.

While Goessel won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-22.

Wabaunsee typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Centralia proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Chargers. Surprisingly, this marked the Panthers' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

The win didn't come easy: Wabaunsee scored at least 19 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-19.

Goessel's victory bumped their record up to 30-10. As for Centralia, their win bumped their record up to 32-8.

Goessel couldn't quite get it done against Centralia when the teams last played back in October of 2016 as they fell 2-0. Can the Bluebirds avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
