Trace Buechle Goes Supernova in Valentine Victory
Starting off the list is Valentine's Trace Buechle, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Buechle threw for 166 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 55 yards and a touchdown on only six carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 62 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
The win (which was Valentine's fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2. Buechle and Valentine will venture away from home to face off against Amherst at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Adriane Garza's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mitchell over Valentine
Mitchell had to settle for second on Friday, but Adriane Garza sure wasn't going down easily. Despite the defeat, Garza was still balling out as he rushed for 216 yards and three touchdowns. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making two total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending a pass.
Mitchell dropped their record down to 2-4 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. Garza and Mitchell will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Amherst on October 18th.
